The Under Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mr Gregory So, will leave for Paris, France, tonight (May 25) to attend the Ministerial Council Meeting (MCM) of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development.
Mr So will address the trade session of the MCM on the agenda of "Sources of Growth" on May 28, during which ministers will discuss policy issues relating to trade being one of the essential components for sustainable growth and development.
He will also attend an informal gathering of ministers responsible for the World Trade Organisation Doha Round negotiations on May 27 on the margins of the MCM. The meeting will discuss the state of the Doha Development Agenda negotiations with the aim of providing further political impetus to move the round forward.
Mr So will return to Hong Kong on May 29.
