The following is the transcript of remarks by the Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mrs Rita Lau, to the media after attending RTHK Award Winning Celebration today (May 3):
Reporter: Can you comment on the Commercial Radio serving their own air-time to the DAB？
Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development: Well, I think it is now a public knowledge that the Broadcasting Authority has received complaints from the public on two particular programmes or promotional materials which were broadcast on the Commercial Radio, and the complaints centered around whether or not that the Commercial Radio in accepting sponsorship had breached the advertising code issued by the Broadcasting Authority governing the broadcast of political advertising. The Broadcasting Authority has established procedures to deal with public complaints and the two programmes in question are being investigated, and they will be submitted to the Broadcasting Authority Complaints Committee for consideration. So, this is a matter which I think the Broadcasting Authority will as always deal with complaints in a fair and very transparent manner. Thank you.
