Roving exhibition promotes Hong Kong at Shanghai Expo (with photos)
************************************************************

A roving exhibition to promote Hong Kong's participation in Expo 2010 Shanghai China (Shanghai Expo) was launched today (April 23) in Causeway Bay.

The multi-media exhibition at Times Square, which will run until Sunday (April 25), provides visitors with a taste of what's planned for Hong Kong's participation in Shanghai Expo.

On display are exhibition panels, videos and a computer providing information on the Hong Kong Pavilion, Hong Kong's Urban Best Practices Area (UBPA) Exhibition, Hong Kong's virtual presence in the Expo Shanghai Online project, as well the events and activities lined up by Hong Kong for Shanghai Expo.

Also available for photo taking are a cut-out model of the Shanghai Expo mascot "Haibao" and a model of the Hong Kong Pavilion. Souvenirs will be distributed while supplies last.

Visitors will also be able to meet the real "Haibao" and pose for photos tomorrow (April 24) and on Sunday (April 25), from 1pm to 5pm.

The roving exhibition will be held at different venues in the coming months including Festival Walk, Kowloon Tong, from April 30 to May 2, and five other shopping malls between May and October.

Another 20 smaller-scale exhibitions on Hong Kong's Expo efforts will be staged across Hong Kong's 18 districts during the six-month Expo period, starting from May.

Shanghai Expo will be held from May 1 to October 31. More than 240 countries, cities and international organisations are participating in the Expo, which is expected to attract 70 million visitors from the Mainland and worldwide.

Hong Kong is taking this opportunity to promote the city as a modern, vibrant and interconnected metropolis with high quality city life built on creativity and innovation.

Apart from constructing and operating a stand-alone Hong Kong Pavilion, taking part in the UBPA Exhibition, and taking part in Expo Shanghai Online, Hong Kong will hold more than 55 events and activities during the six-month Expo period.
