The Director of Food and Environmental Hygiene has ordered a restaurant in Yuen Long to suspend business for 14 days for repeated violations of the Food Business Regulation.

The restaurant (¨Ó¨Ó¹§{), at Shop No.16, ground floor, Ho Wang Building, 11 Yu Wing Path, was ordered to suspend business from today (April 23) to May 6.

"Last September and February this year, there were two convictions for unauthorised extension of food business recorded against the food premises," a spokesman for the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department said.

"A total fine of $7,000 was levied by the court and 30 demerit points were registered against the licensee under the department's demerit points system. The contraventions resulted in the 14-day business suspension."

He said the food premises also had two convictions in June and October last year for the same offence.

"A total fine of $4,000 was levied and 30 demerit points were registered against the licensee. The breaches led to business suspension for seven days from December 31 last year to January 6 this year," the spokesman said.

He reminded licensees of food premises to comply with the Food Business Regulation, or their licences could be suspended or cancelled.
