Update of enquiries/requests received by Immigration Department

     In response to press enquiries, a government spokesman gave the following update on enquiries and requests for assistance received by the Immigration Department after the Black Outbound Travel Alert (OTA) was issued yesterday (April 10):  

     As at 10pm today (April 11), the Assistance to Hong Kong Residents Unit (AHU) of the Immigration Department has received 47 telephone enquiries and five assistance cases after the Black OTA for Thailand (Bangkok) was issued yesterday.

     The five  assistance cases involved loss of travel documents in Bangkok and difficulty in arranging earlier flights back to Hong Kong. All cases have been resolved.

     Since March 10, 362 enquiries have been received. They were mainly about the OTA in force, local flight information and latest situation in Bangkok.
