The Electrical and Mechanical Services Department today (March 25) called on consumers using two models of Sanyo Electric (Hong Kong) Limited's washing machines to approach the supplier to arrange free preventive maintenance services.
The model numbers of the concerned washing machines are ASW-F110AP and ASW-F115AP. Their internal motor power cables may be damaged after prolonged usage, posing a potential risk of an electric short circuit.
According to the information provided by the supplier, the concerned washing machines were supplied to the local market between June 2007 and March 2009. Should abnormalities be found in operating the washing machines, such as nuisance tripping of the associated miniature circuit breaker, consumers are advised to stop using the machines and contact the suppliers immediately.
The supplier, Sanyo Electric (Hong Kong) Limited, will offer free preventive maintenance services for affected consumers and post safety notices announcing the free maintenance services in the newspapers today and tomorrow (March 26).
