The Education Bureau today (March 10) announced the appointment of a member to the Quality Education Fund Investment Committee (QEFIC).
Mr Tee Choon-hong has been newly appointed to QEFIC for two years with effect from tomorrow (March 11). Mr Tee is the Managing Director and Regional Head of Capital Markets, North-East Asia and Korea of Standard Chartered Bank (HK) Ltd.
The QEF was established in early 1998 with a capital of $5 billion to fund community initiatives which promote quality education in Hong Kong. QEFIC was set up to formulate policies for and to monitor the investment of the Fund.
Since its establishment, the fund has supported around 7,700 projects with a total grant of $3.7 billion.
