Fatal traffic accident in Tin Sum

     Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Tin Sum this morning (February 13) in which a 41-year-old man and a 43-year-old woman were killed.

      At about 3.10am, a light goods vehicle (LGV) driven by a 49-year-old man was travelling along Tai Po Road Sha Tin Heights Section towards Kowloon. When reaching No. 8500, it reportedly collided with a motorcycle on the opposite carriageway.

     The 41-year-old male motorcycle rider and the 43-year-old female passenger sustained serious injuries and were rushed to Prince of Wales Hospital where they were certified dead at 4.01am.

     The LGV driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death. He is being detained for further enquiries.

     Investigations by the Special Investigation Team, Traffic New Territories South, are underway.
