Police issued 48 summonses and fixed penalty tickets to public light bus (PLB) drivers in a territory-wide operation against traffic offences involving PLBs yesterday (February 4).
Police conducted operations including high profile patrols and deployment of plainclothes officers to observe the driving manner of PLB drivers. Forty-eight summonses and fixed penalty tickets were issued to PLB drivers for various traffic offences. Five summonses were issued to PLB passengers for not wearing seat-belts. One PLB was found not complying with the Road Traffic (Construction and Maintenance) Regulations and was detained for examination.
Police will continue to take various enforcement actions with a view to improving road safety.
