Following is the transcript of remarks (English portion) by the Secretary for Labour and Welfare, Mr Matthew Cheung Kin-chung, on the building collapse on Ma Tau Wai Road at a media stand-up today (January 29) afternoon:

Reporter: How many families have registered so far?  What kind of assistance will you provide?

Secretary for Labour and Welfare: Up to now, 24 families, 47 people have been registered by the Social Welfare Department.  We provide all the daily necessities, emotion counselling, and also open the Holy Carpenter Church Community Centre, just down there, for them to stay overnight.  We will provide them with blankets and also warm food tonight, making sure that they are well looked after.  Anybody who has financial difficulties, we will try to help them through our charitable funds.  And the Lok Sin Tong Benevolent Society also has agreed to provide them with financial help if needed.  We will continue to be on the spot to help.  Thank you.
