Tuen Mun festive lighting to celebrate Chinese New Year (with photos)

     With the Chinese New Year approaching, the Tuen Mun District Council and Tuen Mun District Office have set up large-scale festive decorations and lighting to contribute to the festive atmosphere.

     Ten large-scale festive decorations are set up at the open space near Kam Wah Garden, Yan Oi Town Square and Tuen Mun Culture Square, while festive lighting is displayed on lamp poles, footbridges and the roadside along Heung Sze Wui Road. The decorations will be lit up from 6pm to 11.30pm daily till March 7.

     A switch-on ceremony of festive lighting will be held at 5.30pm tomorrow (January 30) at Yan Oi Town Square at Kai Man Path in Tuen Mun. Members of the public are welcome to join the ceremony where a dragon dance and lion dance will be staged.

     Officiating guests will include the Chairman of Tuen Mun District Council, Mr Lau Wong-fat, District Officer (Tuen Mun), Mr Eddie Cheung, District Commander (Tuen Mun) of the Hong Kong Police Force, Mr Choy Kin-cheung, Deputy District Leisure Manager (Tuen Mun) of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, Mr Bar Ting-ming, and Chairman of the District Facilities Management Committee under the Tuen Mun District Council, Mr Kwu Hon-keung.
