Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Kwun Tong yesterday afternoon (January 27) in which an 86-year-old woman was killed.
About 6:20 pm yesterday, a medium goods vehicle driven by a 39-year-old man was parked outside Tsui Yue House in Tsui Ping North Estate. When the goods vehicle was leaving, it reportedly knocked down the woman who was crossing the road.
The woman sustained serious injuries and was certified dead at the scene by ambulancemen.
The 39-year-old driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death. He has been released on bail pending further enquiries.
Investigations by the Special Investigation Team, Traffic Kowloon East, are underway.
