Employer fined for breaching MPFS Ordinance

The following is issued on behalf of the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority:

     An employer was fined $10,000 at the Kwun Tong Magistracy today (January 26), after being convicted of an offence under the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Ordinance (Cap. 485).

     Hing Wah Materials Supply & Transport Limited was charged under section 7(1) of the Ordinance with failing to enrol an employee in an MPF scheme as required by the ordinance. The defendant was fined $10,000.
