Police are investigating a traffic accident in Central this afternoon (January 22) in which a 25-year-old woman was injured and later died in hospital.
About 4.25pm, a light goods vehicle driven by a 46-year-old man was travelling west bound along Queensway on second left lane in Central. When approaching Cotton Tree Drive, the vehicle reportedly hit the woman who was crossing the road.
She sustained serious head injuries and was taken to Queen Mary Hospital where she was certified dead at 5.08pm.
Investigations will be taken over by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Hong Kong Island. Anyone who may have seen the accident or who has any information is urged to contact the investigating officers on 3106 8848 or 3106 8800.
