While meeting with Hong Kong exhibitors participating in the show, he praised them for their perseverance during these turbulent economic times and pledged the Government¡¦s full support.
The first CES took place in 1967 and has been an annual event in Las Vegas since 1998. It is now the largest annual trade show for consumer electronics in the world and features more than 2700 exhibitors this year.
Earlier yesterday Mr Tang also had a luncheon meeting with Governor of Nevada, Mr Jim Gibbons; Mayor of Las Vegas, Mr Oscar Goodman; and local leaders from the State and city governments, business community, academia, and arts and culture sector.
