The Director of Food and Environmental Hygiene has ordered a restaurant in Yuen Long to suspend business for 14 days for repeated violations of the Food Business Regulation.
The restaurant (¶Àª÷«Î), at No 3, ground floor, Nam Cheung Building, 17-21 Tai Cheung Street, was ordered to suspend business from today (December 31) to January 13.
"In May this year, there were two convictions in respect of unauthorised extension of food business at the food premises," a spokesman for the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department said.
"A total fine of $13,500 was levied and 30 demerit points were registered against the licensee under the department's demerit points system. The contraventions resulted in the 14-day business suspension."
He said the food premises also had convictions in February and November last year for the same offence.
"A total fine of $9,000 was levied and 30 demerit points were registered against the licensee. The breaches led to business suspension for seven days from February 23 to March 1 this year," the spokesman said.
He reminded licensees of food premises to comply with the Food Business Regulation, or their licences could be suspended or cancelled.
