The Government today (December 31) announced the re-appointment of four members and the appointment of six new members to the Appeal Board panel established under section 15 of the Toys and Children's Products Safety Ordinance for a term of two years with effect from tomorrow (January 1). The new members are Mr Rene Hout, Dr Choi Shiu-hong, Dr Lau Kam-hing, Miss Ngan Ming-yun, Mr Lo Siu-kit and Miss Annie Lo Yik-woon.
The panel's membership for the new term is as follows:

(1) Scientists or technologists with relevant expertise in toys and children's products

Miss Ngan Ming-yun
(3) General Public

The Appeal Board is responsible for hearing appeals against enforcement decisions or actions taken by the Commissioner of Customs and Excise under the Toys and Children's Products Safety Ordinance. When convened, the board shall consist of the chairman or deputy chairman of the panel, who shall be the chairman of the board, and one representative from each of the member categories of the panel.
