Feast of pop star talent for EAG closing ceremony
*************************************************

The following is issued on behalf of the 2009 East Asian Games (Hong Kong) Limited:

Pop stars from around the region will team up with the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra for a rousing finale to the Hong Kong 2009 East Asian Games (EAG) during the closing ceremony on Sunday night (December 13).

People should not miss this chance to say farewell to the athletes of the 5th EAG and join the party at the Hong Kong Coliseum as Hong Kong brings the curtain down on the largest East Asian Games.

Chae Yeon from Korea, Japan's Kousuke Atari, Richie Jen from Chinese Taipei, China's Dadawa and Hong Kong's own Eason Chan will give solo performances during the two-hour show.

In a fitting climax to the EAG - the biggest international multi-sports event held in Hong Kong - the five pop stars will join with the Chinese Orchestra for a unique international rendition of the Hong Kong EAG theme song "You Are The Legend".

Also during the closing ceremony, there will be some moving and inspirational stories about what motivated the dedicated sportsmen and women to strive to be the legend in their chosen sports at the EAG.

In keeping with closing ceremony tradition, Hong Kong will pass the EAG baton to the Mainland city of Tianjin which will host the next Games in 2013.

As well as receiving the EAG flag, Tianjin will put on a display to highlight the characteristics of the city and give the audience a tantalising taste of what to expect at the Games in four years' time.

Online booking (www.hkticketing.com) and telephone booking arrangements for the closing ceremony are in place. For full details, including discount schemes, please visit the official EAG website (www.2009eastasiangames.hk).
