Following the earlier announcement on six male patients and two staff members in an infirmary ward in Kowloon Hospital presented with vomiting and diarrhoea symptoms, the hospital announced the following updates today (November 28):
There are four more male patients (aged 84 - 94) and one more staff member presented with vomiting and diarrhea symptoms. Test results of two patients are positive to Norovirus. All four patients are being treated under isolation and in stable condition. The staff member is in stable condition after treatment and is on sick leave.
Infection control measures have already been enhanced. All other patients in the ward concerned are under close medical surveillance.
The cases have been reported to the Hospital Authority Head Office and the Centre for Health Protection for necessary follow up.
