The spokesperson of Tuen Mun Hospital (TMH) made the following announcement regarding a newly confirmed critical case of human swine influenza (HSI) today (November 27):
A 49-year-old female patient with a history of systemic lupus erythematosus with pulmonary hypertension developed fever and flu symptoms on November 25 and attended TMH's Accident and Emergency Department on November 26. She was admitted to a medical ward for treatment. Positive result for HSI was confirmed on the same day. Her condition deteriorated to critical today (November 27) and she was transferred to the Intensive Care Unit. She was prescribed Tamiflu and antibiotics. The hospital is closely monitoring her condition.
