The following is issued on behalf of the Housing Authority:
Ballots were drawn today (November 25) for the sale of Surplus Home Ownership Scheme (HOS) Flats under Phase 5 to determine applicants' priority in flat selection.
The Chairman of the Housing Authority's Subsidised Housing Committee, Professor Anthony Cheung Bing-leung, officiated at the ballot drawing.
The authority offers in this phase 1,392 flats; and with two resale flats from the Hong Kong Housing Society, there are a total of 1,394 flats for sale in Phase 5. More than 26,000 applications were received, of which about 21,000 were White Forms (WF) and about 5,000 were Green Forms (GF).
Of the 1,392 flats from the authority, there are 370 unsold flats in Yau Chui Court Stage 1, Yau Tong and 1,022 scattered flats. The scattered flats are mainly returned flats located in seven courts in Kowloon and the New Territories. Among them, Kam Tai Court (404 flats) in Ma On Shan and Tin Fu Court (378 flats) in Tin Shui Wai have a larger number of flats for sale.
The Housing Department will be sending out notifications, along with the sales brochures, price lists and other relevant information, in batches according to the ballot results to invite eligible applicants to go to the office of the HOS Sales Unit in Lok Fu for flat selection.
Flat selection will begin in December. During the flat selection process, prospective buyers who have successfully selected a returned flat can visit the chosen flat before signing the Agreement for Sale and Purchase. The on-site show flats in Yau Chui Court and Tin Fu Court will be open again about one week before the commencement of flat selection (early December)for viewing by prospective purchasers.
The ballot results (please refer to attached file) and the priority list of the applicants will be made available from tomorrow on the Housing Authority/Housing Department web site. They will also be posted at the authority's Customer Service Centre in Lok Fu, all public housing estate offices and Public Enquiry Service Centres of the Home Affairs Department for public inspection. Applicants may also call the Housing Authority sales hotline 2712 8000 for enquiries.
