Seawall conversion works in North Lantau

     The Government intends to convert part of the existing sloping seawall to a vertical seawall within an area of about 1,100 square metres of foreshore and sea-bed within the Water Supplies Department's Transshipment Dock at Sham Shui Kok in North Lantau to facilitate the berthing of liquid chlorine vessels.

     The work is scheduled to begin in January 2010 and be completed by December 2010.

     The extent of the area affected is described in a notice published in the Government Gazette today (October 30).

     The notice together with its related plan can be seen on notice boards posted near the site.  The plan can also be seen and purchased on order at the Lands Department Survey and Mapping Office, 23rd Floor, North Point Government Offices, 333 Java Road, North Point. It can also be seen at the Tsuen Wan District Office, Public Enquiry Service Centre, 1st Floor, Tsuen Wan Multi-Storey Carpark Building, 174-208 Castle Peak Road, Tsuen Wan. It has also been uploaded on the Lands Department's website (www.landsd.gov.hk) under Government Notices.

     Any person who considers that he has an interest, right or easement in or over the foreshore and sea-bed involved may submit a written objection to the Director of Lands, 20th Floor, North Point Government Offices, 333 Java Road, North Point, by December 30.
