Public landing facility to be built at Lei Yue Mun
**************************************************

The Government intends to construct a public landing facility within an area of about 6,020 square metres of foreshore and sea-bed at Lei Yue Mun. The actual area of foreshore and sea-bed to be reclaimed under the project is about 842 square metres.

Since Lei Yue Mun is renowned for its pleasant waterfront ambience and excellent seafood, the Tourism Commission proposes to improve the facility along the waterfront area in order to enhance the strengths of Lei Yue Mun and boost its attractiveness.  The new landing facility is proposed to be constructed near the seafood restaurants so that it will facilitate visitors' access by sea.

The work is scheduled to start in 2010 and to be completed by 2012.

The extent of the area affected is described in a notice published in the Government Gazette today (October 23).

The notice together with its related plan can be seen on notice boards posted near the site.  The plan can also be seen and purchased on order at the Lands Department Survey and Mapping Office, 23rd floor, North Point Government Offices, 333 Java Road, North Point. It can also be seen at the Kwun Tong District Office, Public Enquiry Service Centre, lower ground floor, Kwun Tong District Branch Offices Building, 6 Tung Yan Street, Kwun Tong. It has also been uploaded on the Lands Department website (www.landsd.gov.hk) under Government Notices.

Any person who considers that he has an interest, right or easement in or over the foreshore and sea-bed involved may submit a written objection to the Director of Lands, 20th floor, North Point Government Offices, 333 Java Road, North Point, by December 23.
