Police are investigating a murder case in Sham Shui Po last night (October 21) in which a 74-year-old man was killed.
About 9.15pm last night, Police received a report that a man was chopped by his neighbour at a flat on Yiu Tung Street. When Police arrived, the 74-year-old man was found lying unconscious in a corridor inside the flat.
Sustaining multiple chop wounds to his body, the man was rushed to the Caritas Medical Centre for medical treatment where he was certified dead at 2.25pm today (October 22).
A post-mortem examination on the deceased will be conducted later to ascertain the cause of his death.
A 70-year-old man who was suspected to be in connection with the case was arrested at scene. He sustained injuries to his finger and knee and was sent to the hospital for medical treatment. He is still being detained for further enquiries.
Investigations by the District Crime Squad of Sham Shui Po District are underway.
