Police today (October 16) charged a 38-year-old woman with two counts of murder.
The woman made a report to police this Wednesday (October 14) that she and her family was burning charcoal inside their residence at Greenland Garden. When police arrived, the woman, her 12-year-old daughter and 13-year-old son were found lying unconscious inside a bedroom where the children were certified dead at scene. She was subsequently arrested in connection with the case.
An autopsy revealed that the boy and the girl died of inhalation of carbon monoxide.
The woman is hospitalized at Queen Elizabeth Hospital. The court proceedings will commence at Tuen Mun Magistrates' Courts this afternoon (October 16) in her absence.
