The Government today (October 16) announced the re-appointment of eight members (including the incumbent Deputy Chairman Ms Priscilla Wong Pui-sze who is to be appointed as Chairman) and the appointment of three new members to the Appeal Board panel established under section 14 of the Consumer Goods Safety Ordinance for a term of two years with effect from next Tuesday (October 20). The new members are Mr Liu Kin-sing, Dr Chan Luen-chow and Miss Alice Mak Mei-kuen.

The Appeal Board is responsible for hearing appeals against enforcement decisions or actions taken by the Commissioner of Customs and Excise under the Consumer Goods Safety Ordinance. When convened, the board shall consist of the chairman or deputy chairman of the panel, who shall be the chairman of the board, and one representative from each of the member categories of the panel.
