The Chairman of the Education Commission, Dr Moses Cheng, said today (October 15) that he welcomed the Government's initiatives for developing the education services of Hong Kong.

"I am happy to note that the Government will be investing in the development of education services which would enhance the international and professional outlook of Hong Kong. The proposed measures will enable Hong Kong to scale new heights as a regional hub for tertiary education.

"I am confident that with more overseas students pursuing further education in Hong Kong, we shall have a good supply of quality candidates for the local workforce thus enhancing the competitiveness of Hong Kong. Local students will also benefit from more opportunities for exchanges with overseas students which will help widen their international perspective.
