Following is the transcript (English portion) of a meet-the-media session by the Convenor of the Non-official Members of the Executive Council (Exco), Mr Leung Chun-ying, and some Exco Non-official Members, on the Policy Address this afternoon (October 14):
Convenor of the Non-official Members of Exco: I think it is a very pragmatic Policy Address. It deals with issues that a wide cross-section of the community feels most concerned about, namely the economic prospects, both short, medium and long term, and also related employment issues. In addressing our economic issues, the Policy Address also covers issues such as conservation generally in Hong Kong. And outside of the economic arena, areas such as environmental protection, family issues, youth issues etc have all been comprehensively covered in the Policy Address. It is a Policy Address that we think ought to be supported by a very wide cross-section of the community.
