Tuen Mun food premises ordered to suspend business

     The Director of Food and Environmental Hygiene has ordered a food premises in Tuen Mun to suspend business for 14 days for repeated violations of the Food Business Regulation.

     The food premises (¥Ã«í¤NÆp¤õÁ穱), at Shop No.5, ground floor, Sun Court, 1-43 Yan Oi Tong Circuit, was ordered to suspend business from today (October 1) to October 14.

     "In June and August this year, there were two convictions in respect of unauthorised extension of food business at the food premises," a Food and Environmental Hygiene Department spokesman said.

     "A total fine of $5,400 was levied and 30 demerit points were registered against the licensee under the department's demerit points system. The contraventions resulted in the 14-day business suspension."

     He said the food premises also had convictions in January and March this year for unauthorised alteration of heating equipment and unauthorised extension of food business respectively.

     "A total fine of $6,900 was levied and 15 demerit points were registered against the licensee. The breaches led to business suspension for seven days from June 2 to 8 this year," the spokesman said.

     He reminded licensees of food premises to comply with the Food Business Regulation, otherwise their licences could be suspended or cancelled.
