The online voting for the "2009 Meritorious Websites Contest" organised by the Television and Entertainment Licensing Authority (TELA) began today (October 1). Members of the public are welcome to cast their votes for healthy websites at (www.merit.gov.hk).
In addition to the online voting for the "2009 Meritorious Websites Contest", TELA also launched an online quiz today. By taking part in the quiz, members of the public will learn more about the Control of Obscene and Indecent Articles Ordinance as well as have the chance to win fabulous prizes. The quiz will close on October 30, 2009. Participants with the highest scores will be included in a lucky draw, from which 10 winners will each be awarded a book coupon of $100 and an exquisite souvenir.
To commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Meritorious Websites Contest, TELA has prepared special souvenirs for the first 200 voters and 1,000 voters chosen by lucky draw.
The Meritorious Websites Contest aims to encourage young people to browse healthy websites which are free of objectionable materials and to recognise the contribution of healthy website producers. The theme of this year's contest is "Surf smartly and spend our time wisely. Say no to objectionable materials and browse healthy websites".
