The Chief Executive, Mr Donald Tsang, at the invitation of the Central People's Government, will lead a delegation to Beijing from next Wednesday (September 30) to October 2 to attend celebrations of the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. The Chief Executive will leave for Beijing on Sunday (September 27) to call on some ministries of the Central Government to exchange views on issues relevant to Hong Kong.
The delegation, comprising members from various sectors of the community, will set off for Beijing on September 30. During their stay, they will attend celebration events including the National Day reception, a military parade, a mass pageant and a cultural performance.
Mr Tsang and some officials will leave for Beijing on September 27 and will return to Hong Kong on October 2. During Mr Tsang's absence, the Chief Secretary for Administration, Mr Henry Tang, will be Acting Chief Executive from September 27 to 29, and the Secretary for Justice, Mr Wong Yan Lung, SC, will be Acting Chief Executive from September 30 to October 2.
