The Land Registry today (September 24) announced that with effect from October 1, the one-off application fee for each new Integrated Registration Information System (IRIS) Online Services subscriber account will be reduced from $2,000 to $1,000.
At the same time, the minimum deposit for settlement of search and copying services ordered in a subscriber account will also be reduced from $1,000 to $500 or an amount equivalent to two months' estimated transaction volume of the account, whichever is the higher. Existing subscribers with low transaction volume may apply for a reduction in the deposit with the Land Registry.
The reductions are intended to promote the use of e-service and to attract more customers to join the subscribers' scheme.
