A wounding case in Tuen Mun yesterday (September 22) was reclassified today (September 23) as murder.
Shortly before 11pm yesterday, a report was made to police that a 44-year-old man had allegedly stabbed his 39-year-old ex-wife with a fruit knife on the platform of Light Rail Transit Affluence Station in Tuen Mun.
Police who went to the scene located the man and the woman who was lying on the ground.
The woman who sustained stab wounds on her chest and back was taken to the Tuen Mun Hospital where she was subsequently certified dead at 4.12am today.
The man was arrested and is still being detained for enquiries.
Investigations by District Crime Squad of Tuen Mun District are under way.
