Police will implement special traffic arrangements in Tuen Mun on Saturday (September 19) to facilitate the pyrotechnics display cum reception in Tuen Mun.
(A) Road closure ˇ@
The following road closure arrangements will be implemented from 6pm onwards:
Castle Peak Road (Sam Shing to Siu Lam) Area
---------------------------------------------------------
(1) Hoi Wah Road;
(2) A section of So Kwun Wat Road between Castle Peak Road and So Kwun Wat Road roundabout;
(3) A section of Castle Peak Road between Hoi Wing Road (Sam Shing) and Siu Lam Interchange (except franchised buses, MTR buses, residentsˇ¦ services and green minibuses. Taxis will be allowed to travel on the section of Castle Peak Road between Tsing Fat Street and Siu Lam Interchange);
(4) Access Road leading to Golden Beach;
(5) Tsing Yan Street;
(6) Tsing Bik Street; and
(7) Sam Shing Street.
Tuen Mun Ferry Pier Area
-------------------------------
(1) A section of Wu Shan Road between Wu Chui Road and Wu King Road (except franchised buses, MTR buses and residentsˇ¦ services);
(2) Wu King Road;
(3) Wu Chui Road;
(4) A section of Lung Mun Road between Wu Shan Road and Lung Fu Road (except franchised buses and MTR buses); and
(5) The slow lane of Lung Fu Road southbound between Wong Chu Road and Lung Mun Road (except franchised buses and MTR buses).
Depends on the situation, the following road closures may be implemented:-
(1) A section of Wu Shan Road between Wu King Road and Lung Mun Road;
(2) A section of Hoi Wong Road between Wu Shan Road and Hoi Wing Road;
(3) A section of Lung Mun Road between Wu Shan Road and Tuen Tsing Lane.
(B) Temporary suspension of carparks and parking meters
The following carparks and parking meters will be suspended from 4pm onwards:
(1) Butterfly Beach;
(2) Wu Chui Road junction of Wu Shan Road carpark;
(3) Kadoorie Beach;
(4) Cafeteria New and Old Beach; and
(5) Golden Beach
Castle Peak Beach carpark and other private carparks along the closed roads will be suspended from 6pm onwards. No vehicles are allowed to enter or leave from the carparks.
(C) No parking will be allowed on the closed roads from 6pm onwards.
(D) Taxi Stand Suspension
From 6.00 pm until the closed road be reopened after the pyrotechnics display, all taxi stands and taxi pick up/ drop off points at the closed road areas will be suspended.
Besides, the following taxi stand and taxi pick up/ drop off point near West Rail Tuen Mun Station will be suspended starting from 6.00 pm until the crowds dispersed:
(1) The taxi stand at West Rail Tuen Mun Station Public Transport Interchange (near Yan Ching Street); and
(2) The taxi pick up/ set down point on Pui To Road westbound near the Exit B of West Rail Tuen Mun Station.
(E) Suspension of Cycle Tracks
All the cycle tracks within the closed road areas will be suspended from 6.00 pm until the closed road be reopened after the pyrotechnics display.
Visitors are urged to take heed of Police instructions at the scene.
