17 persons arrested in connection with Tsim Sha Tsui murder

     Police yesterday (September 9) arrested 17 persons in suspected connection with the murder of a 41-year-old man in Tsim Sha Tsui in August.

     About 4am on August 4, Police received a report that the man had been knocked down by a car after he got out of his own vehicle parked outside a hotel on Mody Road. Three men armed with knives then got out of another car and attacked the 41-year-old man. The man sustained serious chop wounds to his arms and was sent to Queen Elizabeth Hospital where he was subsequently certified dead.

Following extensive investigations, officers of the Organized Crime and Triad Bureau (OCTB) and Regional Anti-triad Squad of Kowloon West arrested 16 men and one women, aged 19 to 48, across the territory in a joint operation mounted yesterday (September 9).

The arrestees will be detained overnight for further enquiries.

Investigations by OCTB are continuing.
