Police are investigating a traffic accident in which a 51-year-old male pedestrian was killed in Chai Wan this morning (September 10).
At 6.37am, a coach driven by a 53-year-old man was travelling from Wing Tai Road towards Tsui Wan Street. When it reached 22 Tsui Wan Street, the coach hit the pedestrian who was crossing the road.
The man sustained serious head injuries and was taken to Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital, where he was certified dead at 11.45am.
The 53-year-old driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death. He has been released on Police bail pending further enquiries.
Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Hong Kong Island, are proceeding.
