Following is the transcript (English portion) of a media session by the Secretary for the Civil Service, Miss Denise Yue, today (August 11) on the grade structure review of the disciplined services:

Secretary for the Civil Service: We will be considering all the relevant considerations when we put up our package of recommendations to the Executive Council. All the relevant considerations will include the views expressed to us by the staff sides of the seven disciplined services, the departmental management of each of the disciplined services, recommendations and the rationale behind the recommendations of the Standing Committee on the Disciplined Services Salaries and Conditions of Service, the views of the community of this very important subject, as well as how to ensure the prudent use of public resources. We will take all these considerations into consideration and formulate a package of recommendations for the Executive Council to consider and decide.
