Bus parade in North District promotes hygiene messages (with photo)

     The North District Office and North District Council today (August 8) staged a bus parade in Fanling and Sha Tau Kok to promote the importance of maintaining good personal, household and community hygiene in preventing human swine influenza.

     Assistant District Officer (North), Ms Florence Lo, North DC chairman, Mr So Sai-chi, and a number of North District Councillors toured around the major locations and housing estates in the district, including Fanling MTR station, Wah Ming Estate, Ka Fuk Estate, Fanling Wai, Luen Wo Hui Market and Sha Tau Kok bus stop to distribute disinfectant packs and leaflets to the public.

     Preventive measures against human swine influenza were broadcast along the routes to urge people to remain vigilant and prepared in the fight against the pandemic.

     Ms Lo said, ¡§The North District Office will continue to tie in with the Clean Hong Kong Campaign and promote community cleanliness. Apart from organising bus parades, we have also held a series of health talks to bring anti-flu messages to the residents in the district.¡¨
