The Legislative Council now invites members of the public and interested parties to express their views on the Minimum Wage Bill.
The Bill, tabled in the Legislative Council on July 8, 2009, seeks to provide for a minimum wage at an hourly rate for certain employees. For details of the Bill and related information, please visit the following website: http://www.legco.gov.hk/yr08

A Bills Committee, chaired by Mr Tam Yiu-chung, has been formed to study the Bill. Interested parties are invited to submit their written views to the Bills Committee by September 25, 2009 (Friday). They are also requested to indicate whether they wish to make oral representations to the Bills Committee at the meeting to be held on October 7, 2009 (Wednesday), at 9am in the Chamber of the Legislative Council Building. If the submission is available in both Chinese and English, please provide both versions and their softcopy. Submissions received will be made available to the media and the public and uploaded onto the Website of the Legislative Council unless advised otherwise. Those who wish to make oral representation at the meeting on October 7, 2009 (Wednesday),are requested to send in their particulars including their names, organisation represented (if applicable), contact telephone and fax numbers by September 25, 2009 (Friday).
