The Chief Executive, Mr Donald Tsang, today (July 26) congratulated Mr Chui Sai-on on his election as the third-term Chief Executive of the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR). Following is the translation of his message to Mr Chui:
"You are totally committed to serving the people of Macao. With your devotion, resolution and wealth of experience in public service, you have rightly earned your place as the Chief Executive (Elect) of the Macao SAR.
"Hong Kong and Macao have long-standing close economic and social ties. Early this year, the Central Government formulated a strategy for the development of the Pearl River Delta Region, setting a clear direction and creating favourable conditions for the joint transformation of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao into one of the most competitive economic zones in the world. I sincerely look forward to building with you a closer co-operative relationship to enhance development in the two SARs, as well as the whole Pearl River Delta Region, for the prosperity and well being of our citizens."
