18 lease modifications registered in 2009 second quarter
********************************************************

The Lands Department registered 18 lease modifications in the Land Registry during the quarter ending June, 2009, of which 15 were for residential purpose and three for non-residential developments.

Among these 18 land transactions, seven are located on Hong Kong Island, seven in Kowloon and four in the New Territories.  The transactions exclude Small House cases.

Another four lots were granted by private treaty during the period.  They were granted to the Hong Kong Housing Authority in respect of existing public housing developments.

A spokesman for the Lands Department said today (July 15) that the 22 land transactions realised a total land premium of about $18.33 million.

Transaction records of the lease modifications, land exchanges and private treaty grants including those registered recently are uploaded onto the Lands Department's website (www.landsd.gov.hk) on a monthly basis.  Further case details may also be obtained by searching the registered documents directly in the Land Registry.
