Police are investigating a traffic accident in which a 78-year-old woman was killed in Cheung Sha Wan late last night (July 14).
At around 10.40pm last night, a public light bus driven by a 60-year-old man was travelling along Cheung Sha Wan Road towards Mong Kok. Upon reaching No. 868 Cheung Sha Wan Road, the vehicle hit a 78-year-old female pedestrian who was crossing the road.
Sustaining head injuries, the elderly lady was rushed to the Caritas Medical Centre where she was certified dead at 12.20am today.
The driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death.
Investigations will be taken over by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon West.
