The North District Office and North District Council today (July 11) staged a bus parade in Sheung Shui to promote the importance of maintaining good personal, household and community hygiene in preventing human swine influenza.
Assistant District Officer (North), Ms Florence Lo, and a number of North District councillors toured the major locations and housing estates in the district, including Sheung Shui MTR station, Po Sheung Tsuen in Sheung Shui Heung, Choi Yuen Estate and Ching Ho Estate.
Preventive measures against human swine influenza were broadcast along the routes while disinfectant packs and leaflets were distributed to urge the public to join in the fight against the pandemic.
To tie in with the Clean Hong Kong Campaign, the North District Office will continue to enhance community cleanliness by organising a series of health talks this month to spread health messages to residents. Another bus parade will also be staged in Fanling next month to bring the anti-flu message to residents in the district.
