Puppet theatre "Boxy George" brings surprises from Denmark (with photo)
***********************************************************

George's life is solitary and simple. But his world turns upside down when a box pops up out of the blue and messes up his life. It's time for George to think outside the box.

Puppet theatre "Boxy George" is one of the best children's theatre performances from Europe. Featuring beautifully crafted hand-held puppets, the show has an intimate atmosphere and promises to uplift hearts through the world of wonders hidden in our daily routine.

Well known for its exquisite artistry, Teater Refleksion from Denmark has toured frequently to the US, UK, Australia and Japan. Its artistic director Bjarne Sandborg once said, "As our artistic tools, we make puppets, figurines and objects come alive, use contemplative peace in our productions, compose the scenes as an aesthetic unity, and use music as part of the narrative structure."

The group has won great acclaim from audiences during its visits to festivals around the world. BÈûrneteateravisen (Denmark) said, "The theatre at its most intense, magical and entertaining best, revolving around the greater things in life". Politiken (Denmark) commented, "Puppet theatre of the absolute highest calibre ..."

A photo-taking session will be held after each show. Audience members are reminded to bring along their camera to take photos with George and his cute boxes.

Teater Refleksion was formed in 1990 and has produced 18 different programmes. As a puppet and animation theatre, the group strives to make each setting an aesthetically composed whole, with a wealth of surprises and rich detail. The performances communicate visually and the language is simple - in some cases entirely wordless. Music is often an important narrative element. The performances are enacted in an intimate and intense atmosphere, ensuring an individual experience for each child in the audience.
