Government offers help to Hong Kong tour group quarantined in Gansu

     As regards a group of Hong Kong tourists being quarantined in a hotel in Gansu, a government spokesman said today (June 23) that the Assistance to Hong Kong Residents Unit (AHU) of the Immigration Department had maintained close contact with the group and rendered practical advice and assistance in accordance with the situation.

     The Beijing Office of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region has also got in touch with the tour group.

     The spokesman said the AHU, together with the Beijing Office and the Department of Health, will continue to keep in touch with the tour agent and the tour group and render assistance as far as possible.

     Residents who need assistance while outside Hong Kong may call the AHU's 24-hour hotline at (852) 1868.
