An additional performance of the high-energy dance theatre "B-Boyz and Ballerina" will be held on August 8 at 3pm at Hong Kong City Hall Concert Hall due to overwhelming response to scheduled shows.

Performed by the award-winning dancers from South Korea's Gorilla Crew, "B-Boyz and Ballerina" is one of the highlights of the large-scale summer festival "International Arts Carnival" (IAC) presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department.

The show was also a sell-out in South Korea, London, New York and at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

This high-octane street dance theatre is about a love story of a ballerina and a b-boy. A young ballerina runs into a b-boy practising break dancing in the street. Captivated by his gravity-defying routines, she gives up her pointe shoes for hip hop. Out of jealousy, another hip hop gang attempts to separate the lovers. The two groups must battle it out in a heart pounding competition when the worlds of classical ballet and street dancing collide.

A story about love, dream, confrontation and friendship, "B-Boyz and Ballerina" features a series of incredible break dance, funky street dance and ballet which showcases the new force of young Asian dancers at their best. It was praised by the British Theatre Guide: "It's liberating; it's uplifting; it's a celebration of the human body in action."

"B-Boyz and Ballerina" will also be performed at 7.30pm on August 7 and 8 at the Hong Kong City Hall Concert Hall. Tickets priced at $100, $150 and $200 are available at URBTIX outlets.

Half-price tickets are available for full-time students, senior citizens aged 60 or above, people with disabilities and Comprehensive Social Security Assistance recipients. Group booking and package discounts up to 20% are available for full-price performing arts/film programmes of the festival.

Programme guides are available at URBTIX outlets and at the website, www.hkiac.gov.hk .
