The Central & Western District Officer, Mrs Winnie Ho; Central & Western District Council Chairman, Mr Chan Tak-chor; Food and Environmental Hygiene Department District Environmental Hygiene Superintendent (Central/Western) Mr Fan Yung-kai; and District Councilors including Mr Chan Hok-fung, Mr Chung Yam-cheung, Mr Nelson Wong Kin-shing, Mr Yuen Bun-keung and Ms Cheng Lai-king, inspected several old buildings in Central and Kennedy Town today and showed their support for the cleansing action.
Mrs Ho said, "Besides household and personal hygiene, hygiene conditions of buildings are also vital in the fight against human swine flu. The aim of the Old Building Cleansing Campaign organised by the Central & Western District Office is to help clean the common areas of about 40 old buildings in the district, as a way to promote the important message of building cleanliness. The District Office will continue to work closely with owners' organisations in the district to encourage and promote buildings cleaning activities."
Mr Chan said, "The Central & Western District Council pays much attention to the hygiene condition of the buildings.
