Police today (May 30) charged a 39-year-old man with murder and wounding.
He was arrested yesterday (May 29) evening in Sham Shui Po where he was suspected to have attacked a boy with a chopper in an open space outside Tung Chau Street Temporary Market. The 3-year-old boy died and his 61-year-old father was seriously injured.
A post-mortem examination will be conducted on Monday (June 1) to ascertain the cause of the boy's death.
The 39-year-old man will appear at Kowloon City Magistrates' Courts on Monday morning.
Police urged anyone who has any information about the case to contact the investigating officers of District Crime Squad, Sham Shui Po on 2360 7213.
