The Director of Food and Environmental Hygiene has ordered a food premises in Yuen Long to suspend business for 14 days for repeated violations of the Food Business Regulation.
The food premises (ÂE§Q¯ùÀ\ÆU), at ground floor, Block K, Wing Fat Building, No. 24 Ma Miu Road, was ordered to suspend business from today (May 26) to June 8.
¡§In May last year and February this year, there were two convictions for unauthorised extension of food business at the food premises,¡¨ a Food and Environmental Hygiene Department spokesman said.
¡§A total fine of $9,000 was levied and 30 demerit points were registered against the licensee under the department's demerit points system. The contraventions resulted in the 14-day business suspension.¡¨
He said the food premises also had convictions in November 2007 and February last year for the same offence.
¡§A total fine of $5,000 was levied and 30 demerit points were registered against the licensee. The breaches led to business suspension for seven days from May 23 to 29 last year,¡¨ the spokesman said.
He reminded licensees of food premises to comply with the Food Business Regulation, or their licences could be suspended or cancelled.
