Police are investigating a murder and suicide case in Kowloon City yesterday (May 25) in which a 70-year-old man and a 72-year-old woman died.
About 11.10pm yesterday, a report was made to the Police that a 70-year-old man was found lying unconscious on the podium of a building at 25 Shek Ku Lung Road, Kowloon City.
Police arrived the scene and located the man and later found his 72-year-old wife with serious head injuries lying unconscious on the floor of the living room inside a flat of the building. A chopper, a hammer, and a chisel were beside her.
The couple were certified dead by ambulancemen at scene.
Initial enquiries revealed that the man attacked his wife inside the flat and then jumped down from the window.
Post-mortem examinations will be conducted later to ascertain the cause of their death.
Investigations by the District Crime Squad of Kowloon City are underway.
